chris dancing My son Christopher has profound learning difficulties. In 2013 he was diagnosed with Early Infantile Epileptic Encephalopathy, due to a fault on his STXBP1 gene. This is a strange diagnosis as he's not an infant (he was 13 when we received the diagnosis) and he doesn't appear to suffer from epilepsy. It is a very rare condition.

His mental age is about 18 months, 2 years, but he finds it difficult to play on his own with normal toddler toys. He doesn't understand how most of them work, and constantly comes looking for adults to interact with (which is great, in small doses!)

So I've written these iPad apps around him, so that he can enjoy them and so that they can stretch him a little. Design principles have been simplicity and familiarity.
